Cookies and device storage
Last updated: 29 August 2026
The strictly necessary browser storage Brakan uses and why no advertising-cookie banner is currently needed.
Current position
Brakan does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, analytics cookies, session replay or behavioural profiling. It uses only storage and access technologies needed to provide or secure the service requested by the user.
What Brakan stores
- Authentication and security cookies used by the hosted identity service.
- Short-lived anti-abuse or fraud-prevention state where needed during sign-in.
- A local theme preference so the selected light, dark or system theme can be applied before the page renders.
- Service-worker and application cache data required for reliable application delivery; customer records are not deliberately placed into a public offline cache.
Consent
Strictly necessary storage does not currently require a consent banner, but Brakan still explains it here. If non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technology is introduced, it will remain disabled until the user has a genuine choice and any required consent has been obtained.
Controls
You can clear browser cookies and local storage through browser settings, although doing so may sign you out or reset preferences. Authentication cookies expire or are revoked according to the active session policy.
